Monday 25 april:

Our last day in Rhodes: A very good breakfast  in our  Bed & Breakfast and we were ready for a full morning before say Bye to this very nice place! Early we visited the Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights with his mosaics. The figures of these mosaics remember me the byzantine mosaics in Ravenna.

And then, what we did? Shopping of cours! Walking down the nice streets of the old town between bazaar and little food and typical products shops we bought lovely things!!!
Bracelets with the Eye of Allah and magnets for my friends Linda and Sele who collect  them; greek mix spices to cook chicken, a ring, a bookmark and olive oil bars soap for my family. And for me? 2 bracelets, one in leather with the Eye of Allah and a Swarosky stone (actualy I bought it the day before in a very precious shop in Lindos)and the other with a greek blue stone; and a pair of wood orange parrots earrings...so funny!!!

Our last lunch in Rhodes was light but delicious at the same time:
Greek Salade (greek feta cheese, tomatoes, greek olives, green peppers) and Chicken Souvlaki ( a greek skewer with grilled chicken and vegetables) tasted in a very nice cafè situated long Sokratous Street (the main old street).

I advice everybody to go to Rhodes even for a small holiday. It's a very pretty island with a lot of things to see and the food is great!
I remember you that the Meediaval City of Rhodes is UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE!

I was wearing:
Zara skinny jeans
Zara Kellog's tee
Converse black sneakers
Longchamp cream bag
Primark leopard scarf
Zara blue cardigan
Tiffany necklace
Pearl rose earrings
Rayban sunglasses

Sunday 24 April:

Kali Orexi in greek language means "enjoy your meal"  I would like to suggest to you some pics of our dinner in Lipsi Island Restaurant in Rhodes! It was a very typical dinner in a traditional greek tavern! A very nice place for a very pleasant experience!
The tavern is managed by Niki and her family! Their motto acts: " Niki's service always leaves you with a smile". And it's True!

With the funny waiter, a member of Niki's family!

First we took Ouzu (greek anise spirits) like aperitif...but I don't like it! It seems like Italian Sassolino or Sambuca. So I think it's too strong for happyhour...but in Greece they usually drink it like aperitif!
Then we ate a savoury dish: Mussels Ala Chef. It was so delicious...mussels with feta, green pepper in a delicate sauce! Hmmm!!!
To drink wa took Retsina white wine. It's a very special greek wine made with pine resin. It has a very strange flavour, I don't know if I like it or not...with greek food was ok!
And finally we tried the Special dish for 2 people! It's composed by: Mousaka, Dolmades, Spinach Pie, Pita, Souzoykakia, Staffed, Tomatoes with rice, Green Pepper with rice, Pork, Souvlaki, Tzatziki, Beced Beens!
We didn't  finish the dish...it was too big!!! But it was great!
We had a bellyful of greek food!

Ouzo
Retsina wine
The famous Greek Dish for 2!

Ah Ah...Matti liked it so much!
